Two-story south rear porch. An original feature, it was largely open and filled in by successive improvements in the late 19thC and 20thC. A semi-exterior stair accesses the second floor and the rear bedroom which originally did not communicate with the adjoining room. Plans are to rebuild this porch as an enclosed extension of the center hall of the main block.
Drawing room, with chimneypiece in process of restoration. The original painted surface in imitation of Egyptian black and gold veined marble and a green-yellow vigorously grained marble lies beneath two layers of 20thC paint.
Drawing Room chimneypiece - detail of faux marble paint scheme of 1836 revealed from beneath later paint.
